my guess is about 400 rwhp give or take 20 and there should be no reason you could not go 11s with a well set-up car

i went 10.98 @125 with LT1 cast heads and intake on horsepower, the car is set-up for spray so it has a really tight converter

That what I am hoping for, 400's or at least real close. Cause I have a friend that has a simliar setup but he went with Edelbrock head and a custom grind nitrous cam (dont remeber specs) Lt1 intake and he hit 340 Rwhp on the dyno already tuned. Car was tuned by Chris Henderson

Should make a good bit more than 400, if you built a 383 LT1 with those heads, that size cam and a six speed and it only made 400 some thing is very wrong, thats what a heads and cam should make close to with those heads and that cam.

My stock cranked 355 with a slightly bigger cam than that made 422RWHP so yeah i'd say if it doesn't make at least 400 something is wrong....

also depends on how good those heads are.... if they don't flow worth a crap then you might start there as what the problem is.... have them give you the head flow numbers.... if it peaks at like mid 250's on intake, and high 190's on exhaust they are flowing alright and it's enough flow to support over 400 RWHP....

Oh wait up i just noticed they are AFR 195's... hell yeah they'll flow at least those numbers above... if it don't make 400RWHP set it on fire....

That's really a pretty tame cam for a 383 (IMO). That's the one I'm going to be putting in my 94Z. Should have a pretty nice torque curve (which is what I'm after). I'll give up 15 hp on top to have 15 tq on the bottom.

You'd go quicker if you had 4.10 gears. If you're on the stock rear end, you're wasting your time trying to go faster, you'll just break. You need a 12-bolt or a 9".

Thanks guys for the input. The reason why I didnt go with a bigger cam was because Dave form AFR (I think that was his name) told me not to go that big. To stick to something mild/agressive. In fact this was somehting more to his recommendation 63-224/230-112 Comp Cams "Extreme" LT1 Camshaft, 224 / 230, .502 / .510 112 LSA, Strong mid-range with good top-end power. Heads, Headers, High Stall or M6, Gears, Computer Tuning Required

As for a rearend I just put in Zexel Torsen HD Posi, Moser Axels, Motive 3.73 gears and I hav the aluminum drive shaft off the LS1. It should hold up for a while. I'll keep you guys posted. Motor should be ready by the end of next week (guy putting it together is out of town all this week on vacation). It's already mostly assembled just missing a few odds and ends. Then take it to Corey Henderson in New Braunsfuls Texas just outside of San Antonio for some tuning.

I have a friend who just finished his 383 and it kinda disapointed me, more him though. He oly hit 340 RWHP and 341 torque. Well he stayed with the regular LT1 intake, and he got those Edelbrock LT1 heads
http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...part=EDL-61909 with a nitrous cam (custom grind) not to sure of the specs. I was hoping mine doesnt come out like that.

Dave Kubert Did you tell him that you got 383cid ?? Actually he is an expert guy on heads, you should have talked with a cam expert before chose a cam. Those AFRs deserves bigger than 230/236 cam. My car is also daily driven and I have 210cc AFRs with 240/246 113 lsa camshaft..

Anyway let us know when you take her to dyno. I think you should see 400+ rwhp

Oh you spent lots of money for your 383cid heads and cam. But you know just a few changes 58mm TB, ported LT4 intake, and especially 30 or bigger injectors!! you can easily see 400rwhp!! Please do these ASAP.

Yes you are right, the car runs awesome the way it is as of now,but as you and I know money is always an issue.I'm not to concerned with dyno numbers,i built this car to get in turn the key and cruise and to have some fun once and awhile.
