What to do in Winter?
I don't have a lot of money right now for performance for my car, but I want to get something done while my car just sits in the garage until winter is over. I have a 95 Firehawk and it's still as stock as it came from slp. What are some things I can do under the hood to clean it up a little bit? I want a cleaner looking engine bay but don't want to have to ruin my car. If there is a guide on this please show me or show me those cleaned up LT1 engine bays. Let me know what I can do along with detailed pics and descriptions as I'm kind of a n00b. Thanks.

Clean up the wheel well. Remove the tire and get after it. Paint or polish the brake caliper. That is a serious undertaking, so if you are bored, those wheel wells will keep you busy for at least a week if you do them right.
Here is a link to a caliper how to do list. Caliper Polishing

I know, I want to paint or polish my calipers but I have an LT1, and with all those ridges it looks impossible to do. As for a cutout-I already have SLP 2OTL exhaust. Right now I'm going to take out the seats and clean underneath and just clean my interior. As for valve covers, I'd like to do that but what color would I paint them...Red? Id really like to see some clean lt1 engine bays and get some tips...

red always is a good choice or black, but then you wouldnt notice them. or you could polish the whole engine like one of the board members on here did, unbelievable and looked awsome i would be scared to drive it and get something dirty lol.

Sgt. Spuds, you don't have to be so blunt about it, btw- do you have any pics of it done? I want to see what it looks like... Also, Anyone have any pics of painted valve covers? thanks and keep comments coming.

I would paint the valve covers black (if they need it, if not leave them factory black) and then paint the intake black to match (you can do it on the car, I have done it both on and off).
Just tape off the top strips so that they stay aluminum when you're done. Basically look like this but black:
Or red, or whatever color you want.
