Question catback removal

Got a quick question...is there any way to remove the stock catback without cutting it somewhere around the axle? I've tried unloading the rear suspension but there doens't seem to be enough room to slide the pipe out as it goes over the axle.

When I did mine I unbolted the passenger shock and took off the Panhard rod.I had the car pretty high in the air with jackstands. It was a pain but I got it out.If I had to do it over,I would just cut it.Then reweld it if I ever had to put it back.

I did all that work to just cut it up and throw it away months later. So it can be done, you just need to decide if the added work is wirth it.

Thanks for the quick responses guys...didn't even think about the panhard bar. I'm going to take a look at that when I get home from work. Yeah, I know the stock exhaust sucks, believe me, but I was just wondering if it was possible. Can't wait till I have the $$ saved up for my corsa catback, then I'll just take a sawzall to the damn thing and be done with it.

I did it by dropping the passenger side of the axle and the panhard bar. You will need a little help pushing down on the axle while someone else manuevers the exhaust out. Just take your time and it will come out.

I did it on my car and a buddies. Just take the extra time and drop the axle by unbolting the necassary components and removing the rear pass side wheel. Then you can easily snake it out of the fenderwell in one piece.
