Default quick question before I buy headers.

what else will I need? im buying the pacesetter LT's, I assume they come with gaskets/bolts?

or should I get a gasket kit?

Im going to delete AIR, and EGR so i can order the "race" headers then correct?

and will I need 02 extensions?

thanks

Chad

DO NOT rely on the pacesetter gaskets, go to ur local GM dealer and get some OEM gaskets, im pretty sure u can reuse ur stock bolts but if u want go ahead and pick some of those up also. Yes, if you delete both EGR and AIR, get race style. I forget about the extensions, but i think i only needed 2, but someone else will have to give you a definate answer, but get a LEAST 2.

You can use the bolts they send you, but the paper gaskets are junk and meant for the trash. Don't use them unless you like exhaust leaks. 99% of the time your stock ones can be used. They send you wire to splice in for your O2's, but I wouldn't use them. Your best bet is to use the longer vette rear O2's in place of your front O2's. At the least, I'd buy some extensions and not splice them. The u clamps they send you will crimp your exhaust and don't seal well. I ordered band clamps for the y-pipe.

If you're deleting air and egr, you want the race headers
Gaskets, the stock GM metal ones will be your best bet, the paper ones are complete crap (like most paper header gaskets)
o2 extensions, you can either get the vette rears (bosch 13111), or the premade extensions (if you're good with electrical you could possibly make your own)
If you aren't getting a tune, expect the SES light to be on,(shouldn't affect performance) a tune will eliminate the light (if you aren't getting a tune, get some o2 sims)
Get some antisieze too
You can use the stock bolts, or the ones that come with the headers
Band clamps, and some aluminum tape (the tape is in case the band clamp leaks)
You may also want to invest in a set of new plugs, and some plug wires (just in case you break the stockers)

I just bought mine a week ago, they come with some cheap *** wire that i wouldnt use what so ever, gaskets that i wouldnt use and new header bolts with washers. In my op i would just get factory gaskets, they hold up pretty good.those extensions will work, i went with the 24" and they were plenty long. If you also but the ory pipe from pacesetter they will come with all the clamps and bolts. Only issue i had was after i put them on like 40 miles later it ruined my front 02's. Also if your goin catless, you will need 02 sims or a tune. Just be prepared to purchase new front 02's within a few hundred miles or so. my y did bang a lil but i took it to a local shop and they bent it a lil for me.

Since the SES light is going to be lit due to the air and egr elimination, forget the sims, and get the error codes tuned out, the bosch 13111s have longer wires, and are often reccomended as they have a stronger heater, and respond better when used in headers than the stock f body o2s do
(IIRC the rear f body o2s have longer wires and are interchangable with the front)

You don't need the O2 sims, but will still need the O2 extensions unless you buy the bosch vette rear O2's, which is the best way to go.
