well the QTP's are probably the best for HP, but most local muffler places won't install headers because they aren't emissions legal. You can do it yourself. Takes an enitre day and a big jack, but other than that and your wrenches it can be done on your own. I did it!

well from reading the stickies and write ups...comparing the same type of headers...long tubes to long tubes...will all net u about the same hp....and long tubes will get u the most...compared to mids and shortie headers...which will get u barley anything

there isn't a proven "most horsepower header" however there is a huge difference in quality and thats what you pay for.... stainless will run the most money but last the longest and are usually the best quality, coated headers would be next but the coating can come off and then there are just normal painted headers that will rust and not keep temps in the exhaust like they should

we have a great coated 1 3/4 inch header for both the corvette and the F-cars. These are a long tube design we also have the ory and y-pipes with cats.

Almost all LT's will give similar results, if you want cheap, good power, easy to install....Go w/ the pacesetter coated LT's , guys have been pickin them up for $375-400....

It depends on what type of car you have. If you have an F-body, then the Grott style header will give you more power. If you have a Corvette, then the LG headers will give you the most power.

I gained 34 rwhp and 35 rwtq with Stainless works headers, some tuning and a ported TB. My headers use a 2.5" Y pipe with cats, so that's still a pretty good gain. A 3" Y without cats will gain you more.

Thing is the ti tech may last long, but I don't think it holds the heat in like ceramic coating does. That's worth some power right there.

I agree. Long tubes will give you the most. I have had good luck with QTPs ( standard collector.) At the time, with a good tune, and basic bolt-ons, through a stalled A4 ( locked ), my car put down 354/ 360 RWHP/ RWTQ. As a rough comparison, with MACs, the OEM converter, and most everything else the same, my car put down 334/ 355. I did not have a dyno tune with the MACs though. Just a " custom " E-mail tune.
Not a direct comparison, but just a reference. Honestly, those MACs were a PITA to install, compared to the QTPs. I am putting my QTP HVMCs on there this weekend, and see if I gain much more.

first off Thanks for all your help and input,
what makes the qtp headers emissions illegal? and what makes them stand out above others?
I do live in a county where i do not have to pass an emissions test so they be an option. Where is the best place to find qtp's online?
