Default should I buy this car

I am looking at this ta and the guy changed the heads out and it wont run. I was told that he said oil wont get up to the heads. What do you think could be wrong? Also should I buy the car or not?

The price on the car is real good. I am good with old 350's but never worked on a newer one.

well if oil wont get to the heads then wouldnt that be a bad oil pump..maybe the screw broke off that holds it in place...if oil isnt getting to the heads then i wonder where else is it not getting too, might need all new bearings as well...i agree dont start off with a headache

Yeah I was thinking about the shaft on the oil pump maybe, I always go to steel. Well the price of the car is worth picking up just to check it out. I already have something to drive.

you need to post more info on the car and price.....

i ll just guess since i dont know what car or price it is.....

if it was a 98-00 Z28..... id say, if you really like the car.... give him $5K for it.....

and just throw in a $4K shortblock.... maybe a 402?

and go from there.....

FWIW unless you want a project car (and it sounds like you might) this sounds pretty good (depending on th price) get the car, grab a forged short block, add heads and cam of your choice, and top it off with the giggle gas

haha that would get worse gas mileage than my truck. I want a fast car but reliable. My truck isn't that reliable being old. So I figured I would look into the car.

fyi, there is no shaft to drive the ls1 oil pump. It is mounted on the crank behind the harmonic balancer

worry about reliable on the truck, fast cars aren't meant to get 30 mpg

It will be way better than my truck, 355 with 490 lift @ 290 297 112* seperation cam, flat top pistons, 0 deck clearance, worked heads, crane gold series roller rockers, 110 gph holley fuel pump, 750 cfm edelbrock carb, perormer rpm intake with 1" carb spacer. With aerodynamics of a brick.

Blown 402 would still get better gas milage than a carbed 355!
With the right tune you could still get 19 on the highway, 13-14ish in the city if you drive it right! Pshhh if you won't do it, I will... where is this guy lol.
