!SideMolding Mod Complete (Lots O Pics, 56K NO)
After reading some great writeups on the !SideMolding Mod....I decided to take the plunge and go for it.
I just waited for a semi-warm day (low 70's) and let the car sit in the sun for an hour or so. I just used a hair dryer to be extra cautious not to hurt the paint.
The side molding is only held on by a sticky putty type substance. Just grab it and peel it off. I peeled it off slowly....this meant more of it came off with the side molding....and there was less of a danger of pulling off the paint.
After pulling the side molding off....I just used my finger to "scrape/roll" the rest of the major residue off.
After that....I used fast detailer to clean off the wax and dirt that had collected in between the side molding around the edges.
Finally.....I used a Tar & Bug remover (made for cars....so it won't hurt the paint) to get off the left over sticky residue.
Here are the pictures before and after!!! ENJOY!!!

My fingers hurt a little bit....it wasn't quite as bad as I've seen it described. Of course....I took a break for lunch in between doing sides.

They weren't that bad...but I know that HP (and other manufacturers) are raising the prices on their wheels because Aluminum keeps going up.
