I put some LEDs in my trunk (for practical purposes) and I have neons under my Dash (only the passengers side in the pic the drivers side fell) I plan on replacing them with red LEDs when the weather gets nice again.
I also plan on putting a few in the center console attached to a switch on the door, and in the vents, and the door pockets. I love red accent lighting, I think I might put some inside the front fenders to shine through the honeycomb vents too eventually

I installed a full red tube kit on my buddies TA for him. White car. With the red glow that the Pontiac's gauge clusters have, it really sets it off very nicely when he has the t-tops off, and it's sitting at night with the running lights on.
Would I put them on my white SS? No. But I think his was one of the few exceptions where it actually looked really good.

I did some blue led's in my NBM SS. Specifically door lights, rear hatch light, map lights, and I made my own footwell light bars. I get compliments everywhere. It's a little brighter in person, and the light over the pedals is actually a little dimmer/softer....overall it's a nice subtle blue glow at night.

zfastss, I had forgotten that I was going to replace my door panel lights until I saw your post. I just went and put some LEDs in there too. Once it gets dark I'll go take some pics.
Here's what I did yesterday:

Thanks for the compliment!
You can buy Ultra Violet LEDs (like a black light), I get all my LEDs from oznium.com. Quickly, here's what I did:
doors-replace #74 type bulb with a single led, and drill out the hole to fit the led directly over the door switches.
map lights-bought replacement #194 type led bulbs (i think the bulb type is different for birds & t/a s)
rear hatch-bought "festoon" type replacement led bulb
footwell-made my own led light bar with 16 led's per side (you could buy them premade). I wired these into the "theater lighting system" of the car so that only come on when the door opens (then fade out as the door closes), or if I scroll the wheel on the headlight control panel to on.
Do a search for led interiors and you'll see plenty of write-ups from different people. If the search function still isn't working try a google search for "ls1tech led interior" and that should work.
