Post Autometer Gauges

What's the difference between mechanical sending units and electrical sending units on gauges? What makes the electrical one much more expensive? Thanks.

mechanical... for example fuel pressure... mechanical means you're going to have actual fuel going into the gauge,

Electrical, Fuel pressure... uses a pressure sending unit attached to the fuel rail, which in turn sends a signal to the gauge..

Absolutely.. you dont want live fuel lines running in the car. The reason its so expensive is you get all the fittings and a sending unit with the gauge. You can always try to find a used gauge to save a few bucks.
