Who's still on stock driveshaft?
I just purchased the S60 from the group buy and stuck on spending about 75 dollars to shorten the stock alum driveshaft or spend around 300 on a steel aftermarket.
after my ls7 clutch install im going to be doing some 5k+ launches and have around 400+ rwhp by midsummer. do you think the stock alum shaft will hold up or should i just purchase a steel one?

I'd say, save up your money and do it right. It would suck if you had 400 horsepower, and didn't know when it was going to break. I saw a stock 2000 SS at the track not to long ago, and he had a factory aluminum drive shaft, and street tires. He dumped the clutch at around 3 grand and the drive shaft twisted in two, right off the line. So, in the long run it's better to be safe than sorry.

aluminum does not rust but it does oxidize which is essentially rusting...simple green can do that but to rust over time would take a cubic *** ton of years
