i have a few obvious things but worth checking

check the linage,is the trans case lined up properly and tight?

was it professionally rebuilt?

I would call whoever rebuilt (or had it rebuilt) for you, and explain the situation. It sounds like an internal transmission problem to me. Bob

i had the same problem in my 00ws6 i kept jumpin out of 2nd and reverse i had to get new syncros and forks on thoses gears. if i can get pics of the old syncros i can show you why they jump outa gear its kinda neat

it could even be the shift fork as well. I didn't think reverse gear wasn't syncronized but i don't know alot about the t56 yet only the t5.

simple things during putting the mainshaft together have cause a syncro to get messed up, the inserts not properly seated, lock rings not put in right, even the syncro sleeve not put on right. too many to list
