Racer's Lounge - Trade for LT1?

I have a 1994 Mustang GT Automatic with a mac off road h-pipe, cold air intake and flowmaster mufflers. That's all that's done to it. Would I notice a difference in performance if I traded for a 1994 Camaro Z28 Automatic? I'm pretty sure I would but i'm just not sure how much. Do the motor/transmission/rearends hold up good in those cars? It will never be taken to the track.

You will notice a diff. The LT1 Z's are about half a second faster than the 5.0 GT's mod for mod. Everything will hold as long as it's not put on a sticky tire for to long.

The 94Z is bone stock. Whats the difference in weight in these cars?

I would go for it, if that car is healthy it should run a 14.0 or better the way it sits, full bolt ons with a set of gears and a converter on tires it should be capable of going deep in to the 12s. They weigh about 3400-3500 with out driver, LT1s will hold up so long as you maintain them, most are old now though

Not much weight difference between an SN95 and an LT1 F-body.

Most should run 14 flat @ 100 dead stock.
