Question Exhaust Appearance Help!

I just installed a SLP Loudmouth II system on my 97 Z28. I ordered it with the 3.5 slashed tips. After everything was on, i noticed that the tips aren't long enough and you can easily see the plain stainless steal behind the tip. Does anyone know where I can get some longer chrome stainless tips for not very much money or have any ideas on things that can be done? Let me know!

Are you sitting under the car staring at the pipe? I have the LM with the same tips and i cant see the stainless pipe unless i really go looking for it.

lol, no im not sitting under the car. I have found a set of magnaflow tips that are 3" outlet and 2.5" inlet and are 18 inches long for $28 a piece. Would 18" be enough or should i go with the 22" tips. They are $33 a piece. Any one know where i can get cheaper stainless steel tips?

I would think the 18's would be long enough b/c the LM ones arnt that long I know what you mean, but I dont have the problem of seeing the pipe. It all depends on how much you want them to stick out

Just take it to a local muffler shop and have them put the tips exactly where you want them. They only charge like 30 bucks for stuff like that around here

The tips are where i want them on the side that sticks out but they just aren't long enough. I think i am giong to get the magnaflow tips and just weld them on myself. I can get two tips that are both 18 inches long and 3 inches in diameter for 28 dollars a piece. If any one has any other suggestions, please tell me!

well, i know what u mean, i have the exact same setup and when i walk up to my car from the side i stare at the tips cause they are so short that you can see the ends . i think i will leave mine the way they are though b/c if u go to long then the tips stick out like 4 or 5 inches maybe more, and that looks so friggin GAY from ALL sides, i think thats why they are so short, cause from the back they look ssssseeeexxxxyyyy!!!!! but good luck!

Ohhhh I see what you mean now...all my cars have had the TA wrap around bumper, On a camaro I can see there would be a lot more of the tips visible especially from the sides.

I think you have thought of the longest tips that I know of already, the magnaflows. There are lots of long tips available though... fasttoys.net, afterthoughtsauto.com has some fairly long dual walled single/single tips, and u can usually pick up the long plain looking slash cuts (truck type) at any muffler / auto store.

I think what i am going to do is cut the old ones off and slide the new ones over the pipe, mark it, trim it, and position the tip where i want it so it won't stick out the back. If anyone has any better ideas or knows of somewhere that i can get stainless tips that size and cheaper please let me know.
