My car is by far not a daily driver, but it does see some street time, usually on weekends cruising, and going to car meets and such. Car never sees rain, snow or any other bad weather. I'm already driving around with skinnies on the front, 4k stall, roll cage and a big *** cam, so I'm not looking for stock drivability. Car does see the track every couple of months. For those of you have had a spool, chime in please.

I run a Strange 35 spline spool to car shows and I hardely notice it unless turning slowely. Go for the spool. see sig!

I run a spool also. My car is not a DD but rarely sees the track.

I daily drove a spool in my old 9" for 6 months. It was manageable with the 6-speed... with your A4 and big stall, I doubt you'd really notice it all that much.

My car is about like yours, cam, heads and cage, big stall etc. I had a spool installed in my 9", and plan to drive it some on the streets, no experience yet but should be fun.

i street a spool in a 9" with 35splines
it "chatters" a little at first on slow corners, not bad though.

Well, I decided to go with the spool. Ordered yesterday, moser 12 bolt 35 spline axles (spool) 1350 yoke and a new driveshaft also. Should be here in 7-10 days. I ordered it from Driveline Solutions, seems like a real good shop, Scott's spent plenty of time helping me decide what would be best for me.

Calongo_SS It seems you made a good choice. With 35 sp. axles and a spool you should have no problems in an A4 car.

From what I understand the only time it will reall bother you is when taking sharp turns, like turning into driveways, and in parking lots etc. I'll find out for sure in a week or so.

I am trying to imagine the physics of it.
Turn right, left wheel has more to travel, left wheel spins to make up for lack of distance needed.

I was worried that 40mph exit ramps would cause some headache.

I just put my 9inch in my 01 ws6 six with a detroit locker and hated it, i had it swaped for a spool only because it was the only on piece that would work with 35 splince axles,i must say it is not that bad. I lowered the pressure in my rear tires to 22 psi to allow for some folding of the tires and it helped alot. Dont notice it at all on on or off ramps or even regular turns. My cars sees only downtown Chicago driving. Pulling into a parking spot on a really cold day with the tires rock hard it pretty noticable but your only doing that for a few seconds. Its supposed to be unbreakable and for that trade off i think its worth it.

I have the spider gears welded up on my S-10 and I only notice it when i'm taking an exact left or right hand turn. Anything else, I can get away by taking it a little wider than usual. As for the exit ramps, I've taken pretty fast with no problems. Just those pesky little turns will get you. Another bad thing since I drive my truck all the time are the wear on the tires.
