Default ls1 brake conversion help!!!

Hey just got the conversion kit from hawksthirdgen.com, need to know exactly what to do. I bought the new rotors and pads from precision speed and they will come in soon. I will be getting the ls1 calipers powdercoated too so i need to rebuild them afterwards.

any tips on the conversion or on the caliper rebuild would be very helpful!!!

thanks

oh and in the kit i have, the 2 knuckles, 2 calipers, and the 2 ls1 brake lines and brackets.

take off the old, put on the new. There should be plenty of info on the site if you do a search.

If you have the ABS still connected, you have to dissassemble the whole spindle assembly, and switch the LT1 hub onto it, then put it back together. It is not hard to do. The LT1 brake line brackets on the engine frame are different. I took them completely off, and just connected the brake lines to the caliper, and ziptied them to the holes where the brackets were. Everything works fine, and everythying clears.

ok so I have to take the hub assembly apart, and put the lt1 hub in the ls1 knuckle. that is so the abs sensor will hook up right? then after that is is pretty much exchange stuff. I have the ls1 brake line bracket, that wont work?

That should work, I didn't have them pieces. The LT1 and LS1 hubs are different, that is why you have to switch them out. I don't have front ABS, so mine didn't matter. Everything bolts back together, control arms, tie rods, etc...

Just make sure you have the hug oriented properly on the knuckle. It tells you which way points to the front.

u dont have to change out the hub..

I took my bros off his wrecked 98 t/a and used his calipars and spindles and brake line.

Took mine off and just swapped everything even my brake line. Only thing i have to do was bend the metal brakes line that was attached to the frame and undo one bolt from it. NOt that hard at all.

Hubs are the same from my expierence. It's just remove and replace, and bend the brake hard line gently (don't kink it). Very simple and it stops much better.
