Default Hugger Orange Owners... Question Regarding VIN

When I took my VIN to the dealer, they said the car came up as silver, not hugger orange. I thought that maybe the VIN didn't have hugger orange as an option for the color, so it defaulted to silver. Anyone else have this too? I am not sure if the car has been repainted or not. EVERYTHING is hugger orange. Under every panel there is orange, even in the most remote of spots, and no silver. Under the door tags it is orange, but one of the tags is missing, and the other is peeling up. It would have cost MAJOR $$$ to completely paint it from silver to orange. Just curious! Thanks.

Did you make sure the dealer put in the VIN correctly? The VIN should come up Hugger Orange if it is correct. Other than that I would assume the car has been repainted. ???

The VIN itself does not contain information on the color. What the dealer would be doing is using the VIN to search the GM database and pull up the car's RPO codes from that.

Post a photo of the car's RPO door sticker, and I'll tell you what color it really started off

If it looks badass who cares I wouldn't, the color is timeless!

Yep Sounds like they did a good job on a total repaint and its hard to beat Hugger Orange. If it was done right and looks good, I wouldn't mind. That is one color I was looking at in 1999 and went with the Navy Blue.

As I've said, EVERYTHING is hugger orange. I can't imagine anyone wanting orange so much as to dismantle the entire car to do so.
