Default what socket will fit the t56 clutch slave bleed valve?

I was trying to bleed the clutch on my t56 today and ran into a problem... I can't find a socket that will fit the bleed valve I can't see anything up there but it feels like the valve is too close to the case for the socket to fit. I tried several different 11mm, 12mm, 7/16, and 1/2 sockets and none of them would fit. The closest was a 1/4" drive 7/16 socket that felt like it would catch an edge but there just wasn't room for it.

Has anyone else ran into this problem? are there some sort of super thin walled sockets that I could use for this?

Thanks,
Jeff

7/16" or 11mm, can't remember which one, might be both.

I couldn't get an 11 on there and a 12 was too loose so I guess its a 7/16.

7/16 and its at a small angle. make sure you have it on there snug before you try to break it loose. you dont wanna strip it.

use a short socket and put it on before you put the ratchet up there. That is the easiest way to get the socket on the bleeder. It s a 7/16 socket also.,

I used a 1/4'' ratchet and the whole thing fit in there no problem. I wish I would have have had my craftsman with me though cause all you have to do to switch directions is flick the switch, the one I was using didn't have that feature. I love craftsman tools.

Well the very same 1/4" drive 7/17" socket that I fumbled around with for a good half hour yesterday slid right on with no problem today...

I like to use a 7/16 short socket on a 1/4 breaker bar.
Works good for bleeding, no switching the ratchet, & fits the tight spot.
Another option is to modify the trans tunnel slightly to allow a little more acess.
A BFH w/ the trans is out does wonders, but not necessary IMO.

I use the 1/4" breaker bar as well, much easier than changing the direction on the ratchet.

11mm fits, but its really tight, 7/16" is much easier to get on.

I used a flex head ratchet with a 7/16 short socket. The ratchet is a husky brand if that helps. It has the switch mechanism as a flip level so it's easier to crack the bleader screw, then flip the switch and close it back up.

How do you guys see if the fluid is clear of air with the socket sticking onto the the bleeder valve?

Its an 11mm. I had to grind down the outer edges of the socket so it would fit. I used a 3/8 drive also.
