BBC with LS1 t56
Hey,
I am sure this has been covered, but I could not find my answer using the search. What do I need to bolt the Ls1 t56 to my Mark IV (old) 454. I plan to use the stock hydraulic throwout bearing set up. Could I just bolt this tranny to the block or do I need a spacer or adapter like mcleod's that is used to adapt a stock type manual clutch set-up? I guess I could mock it up and measure myself but I am sure someone else has done this.

I'm probably going to use the McLeod adapter plate, the Lakewood adjustable pivot ball, and the McLeod extended pilot bearing on my 79Z. I'll fabricate or modify my own crossmember, and use my mechanical linkage. That seems to be the "least hassle" way (for my smallblock; for the bigblock, YMMV, I don't know about those).

ATS has a very simple and inexpensive solution for using an LS1 T56 with a BBC. They are a sponsor and can be found at:
