Mine ground a TINY bit today, I think I hit the shift gate, it was on a REALLY easy 3rd shift.

ALSO, my reverse lock outs weird. IDK, maybe its supposed to be like this, but when I try to go into R, it just seems like its harder to get into than ANY other gears, not too hard, but I feel a little resistance..

I believe it's time for a rebuild guys. Mine did the same in Rev. It would pop out of gear and **** me the F*** off. My 2nd,3rd gear started grinding too. Very costly!

Slaves do not cause jump out. The jump out issues have been posted to death. If you have the original aluminun 3/4 shift fork you need a rebuild and iron replacement( at least).

Sounds like that it's definately the syncro's. I just finished my rebuild this past weekend. Overall, it went pretty smooth. My neighboor and I did the rebuild and just followed the manual that I found and printed out from here. Mine was grinding going into 3rd and 4th, locking me out of 2nd, popping out of 3rd and reverse. The syncro's were in terrible shape. Since the rebuild, I have never felt anything as smooth in my entire life.

I finally broke down and spent the money. Needless to say, it was wellllllll worth it. I did a 3-4 shift fork, bronze fork pads for 1-2 and 3-4, carbon fiber blocker ring kit, new syncros for 1-2 and 3-4, reverse syncro and reverse gear, and billet shift keys. Be sure to purchase your parts from T56 Rebuilds.

Don't you mean a steel replacement? As calhoon has said, a steel 3-4 shift fork is a must!

No I do not mean a steel fork . The replacement( actually a Viper part) is iron.

You would be crazy not too go steel. It's stronger and better than the Viper replacement.

Sgt. Spuds... call up T56 Rebuilds and tell them your problems. From the parts I listed, your looking at ~$800. But you would most likely not need all of that. Just syncros and the recommended 3-4 steel shift fork. You could also pull the tranny and send it off to T56 Rebuilds and have it back to you for around $900.00, just call them and see. I sent you a PM.

GM has a bulletin on them popping out of 3rd (go to the dealer and have them print it for ya has the part numbers and all), mine was popping 2nd and 3rd. Good thing the warrenty was still good up until next month (GM extended) because it cost GM $2000 to fix 5th gear wouldn't come off the main shaft so besides just the updated parts i got a new main shaft and a new 5th gear.

Its going back together as i type this. GM has revised forks and sincros that fix the problem, since it is already apart the LS7 clutch/flywheel is also going in too. Can't wait to drive

You only need one 3-4 steel shift fork, as it is used for only the 3rd and 4th gear.

Here's the link for the manual that I used: http://www.tremec.com/English/media/...ice_Manual.pdf
In my opinion, it is the best one available.
