I intend to go check out Formula 1 drift competition when it hits seattle this summer,

but I hate the term "Drift Racing"
the way I understand it, it's no race at all,
just gonna cause the prices of decent old rwd cars to go up

but I'm sure I will go see it when it comes out.

Like I posted on a Motorcycle board, at least the first two had a muscle car or two in them, all the cars in this came out of cereal boxes...

Looks good. I am ricey so I liked the last two

Funny thing is just yesterday I was explaining to Steph how Drifting came out of Japan in the late 80s early 90s and how bad it was then that it made USA National news.

one thing for sure is that the fast & felacious movies caused values of some of the featuerd cars to go up. now I just need them to feature a LS1 swapped RX7

personally, I think they are comic... and so does anyone that knows jack about cars and physics.

I honestly dont see the whole point to drift racing? I like power sliding but I dont see the whole sport as being racing. I can drift my car all day and night and like to but I dont think its a competative thing. Maybe a driver skills thing but in no way is it racing. But maybe thats it, just a skills competition. If so I can think of more exciting ways to show driver skills. B-rad if you wanna drift cheaply buy cheap tires and smoke em off.
Also the only drift racing I watched was on tv and it looked to me like they were inducing the tirespin by hitting their brakes first. This to me is babyshit. Either hit that corner hard enough and with enought power to cause the power slide or dont drive at all...

As far as ff3? hahahah we can all use another good laugh. I have a friend who's a block buster manager. I'll see it for free on dvd 2 weeks before its released.

You don't mean like the 2nd one where they "jumped" that bridge and all the cars landed (and obviously demolished their front suspension and bodywork) yet continued on to race after?

Especially if you run the tires that create pink smoke!!!

I would actually like to try drifting once. It's really more about style than racing, which is why the GTOs are winning....they SOUND good too. But it would be fun to see how much power you could control without losing it.

I think it would be fun to try someday too.

Maybe we should start a NWFody Drifting club or something.

Drifting isn't new. Hell, I've been drifting since 1983. They should try drifting in a '67 Chevelle with 4 turns of the steering wheel lock to lock, and a car that has more body roll than a sail boat. That takes mad skillz yo!

What? You don't like when they hit a NAWWSSS tank the size of a deep-diver O2 tank makes it look like "time jumping" speed?

Yer no fun.
