Car running rich
Hey guys i am kinda new to this bored but have a quick question. It seems that my car is running rich for some reason. My back bumper is always covered in black sute (spelling). It's even to the point where it staind my paint and not even a clay bar will take it out. I tried replacing the 02 sensors. Any other idea's on why. Thanks

Was it progressive or always this way since you bought it? Mine was pig rich after the cam install couple years back, SpeedDemon tuned the pcm (non-dyno) tuned, it helped considerable. Finally had GForce dyno-tune it and it was cleared up completely....threw a rod 2 weeks after, but it was due to other reasons.
tuning should fix ya up.

You also might have an exhaust leak, check your header bolts and get it tuned properly. You can remove that soot with a product called "Safe Cut" distributed by the Wax Shop, do a search online for it.

ok thanks i have just been noticing it lately, since last season. I will try tuning the car this spring i have checked all the header bolts and they where all tight did not seem to do much. I'm thining the tune is the way to go. Do you guys think i'll see more power after a tune if i'm running rich like that.

so with a tune the descreened mass airflow sensor will be fine, or should i be searching for a new screen out of a wrecked car? Thanks for the info guys i really appreciate it and yes i still have the stock Y pipe. For valve seals i don't know the car only has 65k on it. I am hoping it's not them but i will replace them if need be.

Some people can tune the descreened MAF, but from what I have heard, it makes things difficult. With a mail order tune, tuning for a modified MAF will be kinda like shooting in the dark.

I have a local guy that is a very good tuner that is going to be doing my car in the spring. I will ask him if he can correct for this if now i'll just order a new screen off of a parts car and put it back in. Thanks
