Keep looking for the Holden P/N. I'm sure that you'll be able to get an intake by mid summer.

Good luck.
Nice pics though.
At first glance I was like "damn what are those heads sitting on to stay in the air?" Then I realized the picture was turned sideways and the heads were on top of eachother and on the ground. :eyes:
combustion chambers are different too.

combustion chambers are different too.yeah there 71cc i believe and these heads will only work with a 4.00 or bigger bore.

i meant the shapes, the L92's are more kidney shaped.

Maybe an Edelbrock Victor Jr. could be modified to fit. It would take filling the floor and raising the roof to get it done. Just a thought.................

I haven't seen this intake in person in a few months but you might be right.
I bet someone like TEA could work on something like that for you.
The have raised the floor on a few sets of heads.
Worth a shot.
Can you buy the truck intake for the l92 now?

Not to hijack your thread but...I'm guessing the heads are for sale now? I know the number works in GM parts direct but didnt know if you could actually use them.
Thanks

thank you... ive been looking for that.
any pics of the intake?
any chance of us getting the exploded view of it, with part numbers?? because we'll need the matching rails and such.....
btw, do standard injectors fit in it?
is there a GM part number for the intake manifold assembly (rails, injectors, ect...)??

One other thing... Do the rectangle ports really offer an improvement over the cathedral port? If not, then what makes the L92 such a desirable head?
I have a price coming for the aussie car intake, I should have it on Friday.

One other thing... Do the rectangle ports really offer an improvement over the cathedral port? If not, then what makes the L92 such a desirable head?the 2.16 intake valves is what kickass and so does the flow numbers compaired to a set of aftermarket heads that cost around 2000 for a good set. these heads cost 400 for a set but there bare. With a good set of aftermarket springs and the GM valves I bet u could be in these heads for around 800 complete.

I've tracked the LS2 402 shortblock fpor months with hopes of doing that swap along with AFR heads. Now this L92 head seems like a much better option, along with the larger bore short block. I hope you guys figure out the intake problem so we can all start doing this swap more easily. I think this will be the most cost effective swap in the coming year if an intake can be had to work on our cars.

Hmmmm so the only thing keeping all of us from running the L92 heads is an intake.
Will the LS7 intake bolt up to them?

Doesn't look likely. The L92 bolt holes are in the same location as the LS6 heads. The LS7 bolt holes are higher up the intake flange. Now, if there's some extra material to drill and tap holes for the LS7 intake...........

the answer is no.
the ports are different.
the bolt holes are different.
there is not enough material to make up for the differences.
currently the only production intakes that fit:
the 2007 L92 Truck intake
the 07 holden intake (not stocked or currently sold in the US)

Cause they flow like a mofo and are low in cost compared to the aftermarket heads that cost an arm and a leg.. :)

Maybe it would be a god idea to post a sticky with the necessarry part numbers to run l92 heads. Some pn# to start with.
Heads (bare) #12582714
Truck intake #12580678
Holden intake #?
Fuel rail #?
Throttle body #?
Intake valve #?
Exhaust valve #?
Rocker arm #?

really, we need a whole FAQ on it... including that.
EVERY SINGLE THREAD is full of the same questions.. some we have answers to, others we dont.
example:
Does the LS7 intake fit?? NO the LS7 intake does not fit.
do i need a new rocker arm locator strip?? we dont know yet, but very likely since the intake rocker has been moved.

gun5I1ng3r,
Remember the "cathedral" portion of the port was simply for the fuel injector to be
able to shoot toward the back of the intake valve and be as close as possible to it,
it is not there for air to travel.
That L92 head is awesome, look how much the port is raised over the LS6...

Pretty sure you use the LS7 rocker because the intake is an offset rocker.

from what i looked at, the 6.0L gaskets will work just fine with them.
of course, my engine isnt together yet to know for sure, but everything seems to line up just fine..

other than being designed for the larger bore...any reason (physically) these wouldnt work on a LS1/6 block?

if you weld up the chambers and the valve seat area, machine the deck flat again and recut the valve seats for smaller valves so it fits in the bore.... yea they'll fit on there and work.
sounds like alot of work, but thats what i intended on doing, right up until i started pricing 6.0L shortblocks.... it would be cheaper for me to buy a stock shortblock then it is for me to modify the heads for the LS1.. but if i could weld and machine them myself, the opposite would be true.
