Default What series carrier is my rearend?

I have a 98 camaro Z28. Where do I look to see what series carrier my rearend is? I wanna put 373 in. What is everyone opinion on Motive gears? Ive seen that some are thicker than others whats the difference?

It'll help if you tell us whether you have 2.73 or 3.23 now?

sticker on the door you will look for the code GU2-2.73 and GU5-3.23 or 3.42, and the thicker gears are for the 2 series carrier (7.5") which is the 2.73 carrier that needs beefier gears and the 3 series carrier (8.5") holds the 3.23s and 3.42s which dont need to be as thick. also might help to put this in the gear section that will help us and you out.

The reason for the different carriers is that the ring gear needs to be in a different location relative to the pinion gear, as their physical sizes change as the gearing changes, not just the difference in number of teeth.
