Anybody ever get a "creaking" sound from the back of the car?
I am getting this creaking sound whenever I go over even small bumps from my left rear. I thought it was my swaybar bushing so I WD40'd it. Still there. Could it actually be the shock making that noise? I wish I could describe it better. Kind of like a creaky door. Moving it back and forth about a half inch each way slowly. Its REALLY pronounced when I go up driveway aprons.
Got to get it up on a lift, but would like some input just the same.
Thanks.

Mine used to do it; I unbolted the rear sway bar and used white lithium grease on all of the bushings until they were coated (and so was my driveway).
Someone suggested using marine grade grease or Energy suspension prelube, but I haven't had any problems with the white lithium grease.

98 Camaro: check your spare tire.....mine sometimes rubs and makes that noise....i just put a old towel in there.....
Keys: Noise is definately from the left rear. Tire is on right. But thanks for the idea. I'll remember the towel trick when that noise eventually comes around.

Keys: ryan, I think this might be it. I'm going to try this but with wheel bearing grease. The white lithium seems to evaporate fairly quickly.
Smkeater911: Lower control arm bushings. Mine drove me nuts. Use silicon to grease it.
Keys: Noise if from the rear. No lower control arms there. But thanks.

I too have this problem in front where it will creak when going over small pumps or even in stop and go traffic. So if you find a solution please post it.
