Is it a 5.3l out of a truck? If so I think those intake mainifolds are taller than the ls1 or the ls6 intakes. You could swap fror one of those. Post up some pics. of the moter if you can.

The truck intake fit underneath the hood of my 86 Cutlass with no issues. I would expect your monte to have more hood clearance and not to be a problem. I didn't have room for the "VORTECH" engine cover though. The threaded plastic bungs on the intake for the cover would be the first thing to hit the hood and they can be easily ground down.

I used the same mounts 5.3 racer did and it cleared my stock flat hood on my 85 El Camino. I did not have room for the decorative cover and had to remote mount the EVAP purge solenoid. The closest thing to my hood is the alternator, probably only 3/8" of clearence, but theres no mark in the underhood brace so I guess even on acceleration it does not hit.

ths ls1 intake will not clear the truck brackets without modification.
speartech makes a relocation bracket, but I think you have to cut the stock bracket some, maybe someone will jump in.

I have the LS1 intake on my 5.3L, and all I had to do was cut the little tab off of the side of the throttle body to clear the outlet for the water pump. As for the fuel inlet on the fuel rail, you can cut the little support that is attached to the fuel inlet and bend the pipe up and towards the firewall to clear the truck coil packs. The tube is quite malleable and if it collapses slightly, just tighten a pair of vise grips around it tightly and rotate it around the crimped location. This will bring the pipe back to round. I'll post some pictures as soon as I have access to a digital camera...it's not hard to do, and works quite well.
