stall size... again
Well i'm going to get in on the Fuddle sale... now i just gotta pick my stall
current mods are in sig... with Pacesetter LT's and ORY, and MT D/R's to come very shortly. I have the stock 2.73s in my 10 bolt, which i wont be changin til it blows, then when i get my 12bolt i'll go with 4.10's - 4.56 and maybe some slicks for the track
More importantly, my future mods will be:
MS3 or G5x4... most like the G5x4,
Heads... probably PRC's ls6
and then once learn to drive on that, 100 - 150 shot.
I want to buy a stall that will work with my future setup, but make for a nice ride now as well.
I'm tryin to decide between a 3600 , 3800, or 4000 stall. with maybe a 2.1 str... i want to be able to hook up with d/rs...
I do daily drive this car in the nice months here in buffalo, but with our winters... i always have a second car handy.
Maybe some people with these stalls can let me know what might be best for me?

hhmm, thats what i was thinkin i know with n20 the stall will end up being higher, but that will prolly be after i get my 12 bolt and and slicks for the track situations... without the juice is a 3800 gonna be too small for g5x4?

Hm actually for a 100-150 shot I would bump it down to a 3600. I have similar plans as you. I am not building around the N2O, I am building this to be the best street car I can, then adding the N2O later. Which means a street cam and converter, and not a specific N2O cam and N2O converter as that will only be used 1% of the time. I'd rather not sacrifice my 99% to make that 1% a little better. However at the same time my converter plus a good cam around 228-230 duration will be a great combo nonetheless and would be worthy of 10s on spray while retaining great driveability...ok i'm done rambling

Is a 2.4 STR going to be too much for M/T D/R's? i dont plan on running slicks for another year or so, am i gonna have trouble launching on d/r's? or should i go with a lower STR... (with a 4000 stall)

If it is going to be more street driven then I would stay around 3200 you will put the power down quiker than a higher stall, If it is a race application it can be a quess trial and error and all depends on what you want your 60 foot times to be, I have had a 4000, 3600 to 3800, and a 3200 stall its mostly street driven and I like the 3200 the most.

A 4000 stall will work just fine on a DD. I am waiting on my new MS3 for my DD. If you plan on spraying be sure you get a converter with the correct shift extensions. Be sure to contact the manufacturer of your choice for the right stall recommendatoin.

welli 'm pretty much set on the stall size, just wondering whats the best STR to have for drag radials... i was thinkin of going 2.2, was recommended a 2.4... would that be too high to hook on the street with my d/rs?

i'm gona go with the 4000, as that was my original thought, and Fuddle also recommended that stall, they recommended a 2.4 str i'm just worried i wont hook, guess i'll just have to learn
