Default New 9" is here, assembly of 4ch/Plates and bearings...

Ok, seen it before but cant search it up.

Whats the proper sequence for assembly of the 9"?
Is it:
A reluctor wheels

B Bearings

C Backing plates

or ACB?

I'll move it and answer it

Reluctor wheels go on first, then slide the backing plates/caliper mounts on and then press the bearings on. Make sure the bearings are on the correct way, the o-ring goes to the inside or outside I forget, says in the directions. There is a bevel on the inner race of the bearing and if thats wrong it will crack the race when you press it on.. Also make sure you put the correct side parts on the correct axle, two different length axles.

Should be the drivers side being the shortest, which explains why some ppl have to "massage" the floorpan on that area for TA clearance. However, I am only guessing about this, since I have yet to pick my 9" up.
kp, thanks. I actually was able to search the info this morning, not sure why it didnt pop up last night. I seen mention before there is a metal lock?

also, I am assuming the beveled race will go on with the bevel towards the outside which should faciliate the pressing of the race into place?

Nope using stock DS, until I go install it. If its too short, will have it lengthened or replaced. Wont find that out until Sunday probably.

Well, got a box of 100 3/8-24 nuts, and matching lock washers, picked up the Napa U Joint (447) and 3" Exhaust Clamps for the sway bar mounting. Ended up getting POR-15 in Silver, oddly enough I like the color, but wont do Silver by brush again, too hard to keep the flakes stirred up and spread nicely. Besides having to brush it on, the cleaning went super smooth, I'd highly recommend getting the Marine Clean recommended for POR-15 use, as well as the Metal Prep. I only needed about 4oz of the Metal Prep, and maybe 8oz of Marine Clean. I put two coats of Silver on shortly after prepping and used about a 1/3 of a pint. I'll end up installing the center section in the morning, and then put my car on the lift to swap out rears. Cant wait.
Next w/e is the last time for our track, so I need to get this done now, and broke in so I can give it my all.
