02 Z06 and 150 wetshot + cam
Will my 02 Z take a 150 wet shot with a lg g5x3 cam and full bolt on's. Or should I run a smaller cam? I have not installed the cam yet but trying to plan ahead. I am at 392/385 at the wheels now. I know I have to change the clutch and I am adding harden output shafts and rear end brace when I do the clutch install.

My cam is very close to a g5x3. And with the stock heads on it snugged down and the lifters welded all the way up for mesuring purposes. The rocker set at zero lash.
The exhaust valve barely hit the piston.
My cam is a 591/601 lift. I am using it with some 5.3's that are milled .050". So I had to flycut quit a bit.
I to will be spraying a 150 wet shot on it this season. 114lsa btw.

The g5x3 will fit with no flycutting on stock heads. Even the x4 will fit without flycutting if its on a 114lsa and you dont over rev it from a mis-shift or somthin. You will definately want to upgrade your fuel system for that set-up.

Stock Z06 Walbro will support 550hp and some take it to over 600hp. One area to look at though is going to a regulator and return at the rails, you'll then see no psi drop under your heaviest load demands. So, if you see a fuel press drop (not much really) likely it's a return at the tank issue rather than a fuel pump issue.

Will the stock injectors still be enough? Will I need to run a fuel pressure gauge or can I just use a safety where if fuel pressure drops it will quit spraying. What controllers are out there that can do that along with lock out so it doesnt spray in first gear.

You are already pushing your stock injectors. Remember that the 28lbs/hr is rated at the LS1 unconvensional 4bar of fuel pressure. The way the rest of the world rates fuel injectors at 3bar, we are running around with 21lb/hr injectors! At max hp you're already running 100%+ duty cycle with a BSFC of .55.

Stock injectors should be fine, as you are not taxing them with a wet hit. I made 490hp on 28lber's, though not rec. The fpss is normally set at 50psi, you should not be dropping that much, so your prob ok without, but, if you really want to see what's going on-get one. Most kits come with a FPSS. BMN has a 1st gear lock out built into it's window switch.
