I don't think so, it'll hold the car at the line at the most but it's not going to allow you to stall it. It will just start burning out at the line . Just footbrake it and go .

I thought that it would at least help you hold it better than mashing the brake pedal as hard as you could...

But now that I think about it more, you're right...it wouldn't work because it releases the rear brakes and you would just burnout...

It saves your rear brakes from not having to do brakestands. So spending $100 once on a line lock kit with save you hundreds more on rear brakes.

gotta be careful never top bump the switch while you are driving. Might cause an accident if you were to arm the system then step on the brakes for some reason.

I'm waiting to do my rotors and pads and switch over to stainless steel brake lines when I get the line lock put in. Might as well do it all at once. It shouldn't cost much though.

If the system is engaged as you are driving or in motion, then the front brakes will "Line Lock" with no pressure. So that will make it to where when you hit the brakes no pressure makes it the the fronts calipers. So like already stated, only the rear brakes, or any caliper not hooked up to the line lock system will still have pressure. It will still cause your car to stop alot slower than normal. You would probably notice the mistake in time in most cases but say if you needed brakes fast... you'd be screwed. Best thing to do is put the switch where you can cover it so as it is not to be accidently activated.

I always thought that till I fugured out how it works. The solinoid locks up the line...So if the front brakes are engaged, it keeps the pressure there...I thought it somehow added the pressure itself.

You could use a momentary switch if you were worried.

When the line lock is activated the brakes the line lock is attached to (usually the front) will hold the same pressure as they had before the lock was activated.
example if you are not pushing the pedel and activate the lock- the (front brakes) will remain with no pressure no matter how hard you push the brake pedal.
same thing if you had the pedel pushed in say 25% and activate the lock the (front brakes) will remain at 25% until the lock is released.

another thing to consider is that it is not reccomended to engage the lock for more than 60seconds. I assume this could damage the linelock itself. I believe the smj kit includes a master switch and a momentary for extra protection.
