Default all you 4.10 guys with A4s look real quick!

curious on how your transmission holds up to the 4.10s

just had mine installed on wednesday and my tranny blew from them from what it seems...curious if my tranny was going out and just amplified it...or 4.10s truely isnt a gear meant for a minor modded A4

Gears shouldn't affect your tranny too much. They might even be a little less harsh on your tranny than stock gears cause it doesn't take as much to get it moving. I bet it was on its way out and finally gave up when you went around flooring it everywhere.

That sounds pretty reasonable. How high are you shifting it?

thniking another reason why it blew was because it wasnt calibrated, so shifting at 7625 rpms wasnt smart, when it thought it was shifting at 6000 rpms

I dont think thats right. Gears wont change the computers reading of the rpm. I dont know a whole lot about ls1's but im pretty sure that your tach should still read the right rpm.

The new 4.10 gears won't have any affect on the tranny. The deeper gears make it easier for the motor to move the car and reduces the direct load on the tranny by doing this. It sounds that the tranny was already fixing to lay down on ya.

your car will still read the right rpms. but your mph's will be way off. your tranny was probally already on the way out and some of the extra rpms and heat probaly sent it over the edge. get your tranny gone through, put in a shift kit, stall and a decent tranny cooler. bigger the cooler the better and you can bypass the factory crap. it just goes in then straight down out the bottom.

I have had my moser 4.10 gears in for about 2500-miles and had no problems other than spinning my tires. I think the gears really wake up the car and the car actually runs better around town. I went from 3.23 to 4.10's which was a big jump but i would recommend these gears to anyone.
