Hi there Martin,
How's things with your SS ? Did you get out with it on Saturday, it was good weather here in North West
Hi Dan, How about you good buddy, that red monster still a daily driver?
I was looking to put possibly put some underbody neons/l.e.d's What do you think, would it look cheap, On Friday evening, when it had gone dark, I took the WS6 into the town center.
Just did a bit of slow prowling with just the side lights, I still have the front amber side lights
When I slowly drive the front of this looks as MEANER THAN HELL !
Oh my God !

Check out these LEDs; they're bad ass... not your typical light kit. I have the underbody kit and floor wells. Check out the vids.

Mmm, yea, the underbody led's might look a bit cheap.
How do you feel about footwell lighting that will come on or off when the doors are opened/closed?

MasterV8
03-28-2006, 05:48 PM
lighting on the interior i think looks damn cool! It's just outside, i know how cool & downright nasty your car looks at night & i think the neons would detract from that!

Hi Blackhawk.
Paul is it ?
Glad you made it through the sva.
If I remember right, didn't the inspectors give you a hard time about your door mirrors?

blackhawk66
04-01-2006, 06:17 AM
Yep that's me. :)
In the end I had to get a company called SVA UK to do the work for me and they just put spacers on the mirrors, but what ticks me off is that the mods I had done were fine for MOT standard, and SVA UK put the lights back to how I had them after it got its ticket. :bang:
Thanks for the comment on the shine, that was down to the amazing Zaino polish I use.You guys must check that stuff out, it is way superior to the s**t you get at Halfords!
Anyway there are some cool cars appearing on this thread and I hope to see some of you if you come down South(Wheels Day -Aldershot good Friday, Fort Brockhurst-Gosport Easter Sunday, Hampshire Paegant of motoring - Broadlands,Romsey)

It's great to see f-body enthusiasts across the pond! Just out of curiosity, how much attention/comments do you guys get about your cars? Do people shun american sports cars, or are they like exotics are over here? Anyway, you guys have some great looking cars! :drive: Take care.

MasterV8
04-01-2006, 01:12 PM
50/50 alot of people love the cars because they are different, alot of people have never seen them before! Then there's the bunch of people because of programs like Top gear think all American cars are non handling, slow, heavy pieces of junk that are only good for straight lines & drink fuel like it's going out of fashion!
Lets say we like to re-educate them!

blackhawk66
04-01-2006, 03:15 PM
Unfortunately it's often true that because of the media, people here still think of American cars as "yank tanks".(I really hate it when they say that)
Some are suprised when I tell them how wrong they are and sometimes I cant be bothered to get sucked into an argument so I just say that since they don't actually own/drive one they are talking shit!

Then above your pic on the second line down (thumbnail for forums 1) cut and copy the part blah blah to then copy it into your sig on this forum, check one of your posts & your pic should be showing.
hope this helps.

Hello,

I have a 2000 Chevrolet Camaro SS and I am Peterborough (Cambridgeshire). I have had the car for nearly 4 years now... it used to be the show car for American Car Imports when they went to events.

I've done several upgrades since then though.

Nice to see some other people from the UK (I'm actually Canadian, but live in the UK) on this board.

Cheers,

Alright chaps!!!

I'm from Bedofrdshire (well Cambridge by day....)

As is evident from my sig I have a 1999 z/28. Not too many mods just yet but more on the way :D

Seems like none of you guys are near me though. There's a few other Fbody's in the area, a friend down the road has a LT1 1997 Z.28 and a C4 Corvette. and I see a Euro spec Camaro convertable quite a bit (Euro vert means V6 though).

Whats the lowdown on up coming shows for summer 2006?

Well I live in Peterborough, Cambs.... so I am not too far from you.
I drive a 2000 Camaro SS 6 speed, as can be seen in the attachments.. not the best photo's, but oh well!!

There are a couple of Camaros around the Peterborough and Huntingdon area... I am sure the red convertible is from Huntingdon... I know a guy that has one from there anyways.

Here is my latest ride.

Still over here with me in Houston.
I have swaped out the tail lights already.

I will be shipping it out of Houston round about 6th April, or within the following week, depending on ship capacity for containers.
This is a 2004 C5.
Commemorative edition.
Le Mans Blue
Has the Heads Up Display
also the selectable sport / tour (F55 magnetic ride suspension.)
Runs like a dream.
Probably a bit harsher than my WS6
this is quicker though

Hi Guys, just thought i'd say hi from Florida. Although I now live in Florida, I was born and raised in A-U-L, my mum still lives in Denton. I don't remember ever seeing all these f-bodies when I lived over there. The most I ever saw was the odd american stepside truck with Rover V8 conversions.
Its been 7 years since I saw England, from what I believe I wouldn't reconise it now. I hear they finally finished that Denton/Bury link of M66 ring road.

Hi Richard,
Yes I took car back to Mark and he found another parameter in the MAP section had changed so it was trying to reset itself all the time. We didn't need to change the ECM, so I have still got my license for the road car.
We are going to Pod on 17th Aug to fine tune it, 11's at last I hope!
Cheers for your help.

Yes you will be happy to here the M60 "CAR PARK" :eyes: is now complete and they are even trying to put a double congestion charge to get in to Town in the near future.
Go onto eurodragster.com to keep up with racing scene over here.

Yeah I remember BM in town, I always used to 'window shop' there whenever I went into manchester.

The dealer I always remember was the one that got me into f-bodies when I first saw the 2nd gen firebird sat in their showroom back in the 70's. It was across from the old swimming baths at the west end of Stamford St/Old St.

So where is the dealership in Hyde?.

You mean Morans, Ernie Wright who used to work for him has got his own garage doing yanks at the back of the train station in A-u-L, we spend many an hour reminiscing after work and at the shows.

The dealers in Hyde which is also Mitsubishi now is what used to be Stuart Wilson tyres on the corner of Clarke Way and Newton St near the old DSS.
He does RHD conversions with a kit imported from New Zealand, costs about another £8k.Not worth it if you ask me but they seem to sell!!!

I have a 2001 SS Red 6 spd. But the motor is sitting in the garage now. I am going to strip it this weekend to check out what condition it is in. THen I have to find a machine shop that can hone the block out so I can slap in a set of forged pistons and rods.

Sutton Fields,
If you know the area it is not far from the big rounda-bout at Murdishaw, A533
head onto A56 towards Frodsham, and it is the first big fields you get to on the LHS.

This is the first time they put a show there, so in all honesty, I think it will just be local show an' shine.
