I rushed to install my Yank SS3200/2.1 stall last week, so I could go to the KYHorsepower shootout. I did not realize that the learning curve was quite so steep. I can not drive my car very well any more.
Well I just got home from the shootout. Good to meet the guys and girls that I did get a chance to talk to. I was impressed at all the quick cars out there. I hope you guys that broke get fixed up in a hurry. I took 2nd in the bracket racing 12.0-13.99 ...if I had not spotted the guy 1 second off the tree I would have won I think. Just shows what a momentary lapse in attention will do. Anyway here are my new times, was hoping for better but I could not get traction for SH*T. My best was
R/T 1.317
60' 1.959 (need sticky tires)
330' 5.567
1/8th 8.043 @ 89.866
1/4 12.429 @ 111.115
Will post the timeslip when I get home next week. My times were crazy anywhere from 12.4 to 13.1 @ 109 to 113...not the epitome of consistency. My best R/T was .007 on the first bracket of the day...I felt pretty good to get that one anyway.
I think there is a low 12.0x in this car if not 11.9x if I could get traction. I think I need some slicks, then maybe I won't spin through all of 1st gear. Every run I did not take off until the 1-2 shift...I know second is not stronger than first and all the guys watching were in awe of my second gear pull. I told 'em that is only because I have no traction.
Sorry so long
Jon
