T56 Shifter option !!
I did a search on this but didn't find any info about this, we are working on a project car and we got our t56 out of a 02 F-body, our space is very limited I was wondering if we can use the shifters made for t56 in Cobra, so I thought to ask here before order, any help is appreciated !!

The GTO shifter will directly bolt to an Fcar T56. To use it, you need to change the offset lever on the shift rail also. Have you looked at a GTO shifter? It places the shift handle rearward about 3 inches or so. I t will require a hole cut in your tunnel and reaching rearward for the stick. Why a GTO shifter?
The Cobra T56 shifter bolt pattern is different and will not attach to the Fcar casting. To use one requires a casting and linkage swap. In the end the shifter is moved WAY forward . I would suspect that the handle would then be under the dash - after you cut a new hole in the tunnel for it. Not a real option for just a short-throw shifter.
