weight?
My question is on weight differences between 4th gen f body's. My buddy just got a 99 ss convertible and the sticker on the door says GVWR 4333lbs. I thought that was way too high. From what I understood they weigh around 3500lbs. Are hard tops much lighter or is the rating wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. also it is a m6.

GVWR is the max the car is supposed to be loaded to. Thats 4 people and a trunk full of crap.
I beleive the firebird formula LS1's would be the lightest 4th Gen F-Body??? ANyone know for sure, and if so by how much? (1LE police package stripped down cars are excluded in my decision by the way)

That's what I use to determine stuff like that.
The Z-28 coupe is lighter than the Formula by about 80lb.

Easier to read?
It goes Coupe (as in V6) - Formula Coupe - Trans Am Coupe
and Camaro: Coupe (also V6) - Z28 Coupe - Convertible (again, V6) - Z28 Convertible

I still don't think it's right because it lists the formula at the same weight as the trans am, and the formula and z are within 20lbs for the earlier years. I don't know how they would randomly just add 60lbs to the formula, when the only changes over the years were extremely minor.
