Default AS&M 58mm Throttle Body, NE use one and not get WOT?

Just curious if anyone uses the AS&M throttle body and doesnt quite get 100% throttle opening. I have used the GM factory manual to adjust the throttle, but to no avail. It seems as if there isnt enough pull.
Look at this photo of a Holley where the guy fixed his WOT problem by putting the facotry linkage on his Holley, and look at the difference in length.

I think the linkage is wrong. A friend took a factory throttle linkage off of his Throtle Body and installed it on his Holley, and the problem was solved.
Look at the difference in length, hence more pull, Geometry thing.
