Default Is anybody running a Trailblazer torque converter?

I'm told the trailblazer torque converter will work in a 2002 Z28. I'm wondering what your opinion is on it? How much more stall does it offer than the factory converter? How much of an improvement did you see?

Now, I understand most will probably post and tell me to spend the money on the vig or fuddle or some other brand. I appreciate those opinions, however, they do not answer the question above. I'm trying to offer my brother-in-law options, and I've been told the trailblazer stall is an option. So I'd like to see how it compares to stock and let him decide. Thanks

I can't answer all your questions, but I do know that it will work in an f-body. I've read about folks using it on these boards, but search doesn't go back far enough right now to find the threads. IIRC, the stall speed behind an LS1 will be around 2400-2500 rpm.

The original SLP unit was a truck converter. It helps off the line, but if you have the ASA cam, you need something bigger. Yank SS3200, Vig 2800, TCI 3000 or similar is the smallest you should go.

Colby, I had a trailblazer converter in my truck, and have friends that used them too. I cant tell you what gains over stock they give, cause I went from a TCI 3000 to the trailblazer, so I actually lost performance. But the fix(es) should be here soon
