Default More proof that the right converter and gears will help you

Previously with a TR230/224 cam my car was running in the range of 12.7's at about 111mph. This was on stock 2.73 gears and a mild Yank TT2800 converter.

I finally upgraded to 3.42's and a PT4000 converter and all I can say is WOW!
I ran the car and managed a 12.0009 at nearly 114mph. I've always gotten some gruff from a couple of the TR guys about getting a gear and converter to match and I can say i'm VERY PLEASED!

Wow congrats. 7 tenths of a second is an obvious improvement. Sounds like you found the right combo.

Congrats!
Nice improvement.
There maybe still more in it, if you want to spend the time to tune it.
My brother car is 98 Z28 3.42, TR 227 with a Vig 3200.
We spent a lot of time dialing the shift points.
We force it to shift by mph and data logged the rpm.
We set the mph shift points so that the rpm was as close to 6800 as I could.
Made a large difference in ¼ mph and good difference in et.
His car just ran a new best last time out of 1.58 60', 7.34 1/8, 11.54 1/4, 117.14 mph
Try it
Bob

Yeah, i'm actually shifting way low right now (6300) because I wasn't sure what the A/F was at. I plan to do ALOT of tweaking to the tune and a few other things before my next pass though.

1.75's, They could use some improvement but all I had were worn out nittos and I need to get some LCA relocation brackets as well.
