My 94 t/a tail lamps are taking in water from like a car wash or rainfall. It drys up inside when sitting in the sun. So I know there is air getting in/out. I need to know how to disassemble them so I can make a seal. Any thoughts.

Ive done this before on my 79 t/a tail lamps and a 3rd gen once but I cant figure out how the front lens pops off. Now water is not getting into where the bulbs are, it is in front of that plastic core part. Or Should I leave them till Dry and run a bead of rtv silicone all around??

Same problem here. Driver's side only. Looking to crack mine open this weekend.

I have the same problem on the right side for me, its too late to seal it, its not getting any worse, I will probaly do a blackout or replace it and seal it off good.

I don't think that will fix anything, these problems are common in T/A firebird taillights.

It won't fix the condensation, but there has to be something causing the darkening of my taillight. Mildew, mold, etc. I'll find out when it's open and if it can be cleaned.

7901 WS6 and I are speaking about a different, but related subject. Sounds like he wants to prevent it, I want to fix then prevent, since I have the discoloration.

i had the same problems my tail lights looked like fish tanks
at night you could see the water slosh around when i turned corners

take them off and drill a small hole in the bottom of each section and put them back on it will allow them to drain and keep the condensation away

I going to take a look at them again this weekend and see if there is a way to dimantle them(without craking them) and find out how water is getting in. I think there may be some snaps or plastic clips that hold the lamps together. Also get some new rubber washers for the wiring harness bulbs.

i had the same problem with my tailights and foglights on my 99 t/a. after replacing the foglight assembly a couple times, my friend showed me the lights on his mercedes had a small hole in the bottom of the assembly to allow for water to drain out. i drilled small holes in each of the assemblies and havent had any problems with water collecting or blackening of the lens/dulling of the metallic reflecters. that was 2 years ago and the car is a daily driver, so it sees alot of rain.
