Default advice on price (98 Z28)

im looking at a 98 Z28 and the guy is asking 10,000 and i asked him if he would do 9000 and he said he could do that, im just think i could go lower but anways heres the specs on the car:

98z28 black auto
74,000 miles
has every option

he put a SS hood and spolier on the car, they are aftermarket and dont line up just right and also he put chrome SS wheels on the car

Also SLP lid and some aftermarket catback

the paint is nice with a few imperfections but what can u expect on a 98 and the interior is also nice

the car was in an accident(it was fixed), it was hit on the passanger side door, the only thing that is noticable is that the passanger Apillar doesnt meet the dash all the way and the tip of the right windshield wiper blade hangs off the windshield a little bit.

thats about it, what would you guys suggest i offer ??

Not close to 10k, maybe 7, and thats pushing it, if it wasnt repaired properly from being in a wreck, and the hit was hard enough on the driverside to mess with the passenger side lining up there is a problem. Again, I wouldnt pay ore than 6k on it, seems fishy. 7k TOPS.

Move on. My dad used to be in the bodywork business, and I've seen a lot of cars that showed small errors after bad repairs, only to have huge garbage hidden beneath when disassembed. Think of it as the tip of the iceberg. I would offer ZERO as there are much better unhit cars available for ~ 9-10k.

Be patient, don't get car fever, or you'll buy someone elses problem. JMO

I bought my 98 Z28 a couple years ago for $10k with 39k on it. Its all stock with a couple minor mods. No accidents. I worked in body shops for about 9 years. Our shop did excellent work. High end stuff. No bondo, old fashion metal finishing. Still, we new, once a car is crashed. It will always be a "rolling wreck" no mater how good it is put back together.

For that much or less you can find a stock and never crashed.

Pass on it.
