I am in the middle of a Torquer V.2 cam swap and I am retaining the stock lifters. The guys at TSP said it would be fine and to not replace them unless I really wanted to. Given that a shop just told me not to spend more money I think it's safe not to.

Take a look at them... are they (the roller) scored in any way??? Does the cam they were used with show any scoring on the lobes??? If not just re-use them...

I broke one on an XER lobe cam but am convinced that I just had a bad part. When it came to time to put new lifters in my stroker I got stockers. I've heard of aftermarket failures and the Morels are pretty pricey. Everybody I've spoken to agree I just got a bum lifter from the factory. Broke the roller right off and caused havoc.

Ive been running the stock lifters on my 228/228 XER cam for about 25,000 miles now no problems. They even went through a timing chain break which took out 10 valves..... ;)
