Default I'm still alive....

Just figured I'd say hi and update all on my new project.

Got a 70 Chevelle that will be a ProTouring project. Got the body off the frame a couple weeks ago and am about to have it blasted, then notch the rear frame rails (19x12's out back), and have it powdercoated. So it's a big project ahead of me. Here's the plans...

Powerplant/Drivetrain:
Twin Turboed LS2
T56
9 inch w/ 4.56's

Wheels/Brakes:
C6 Z06 wheels in HyperBlack (like a tinted chrome)
C6 Z06 brakes w/ full ABS

Suspension:
Airbags
Remove upper control arms and add a F-Body Torque Arm
Extended tubular A-arms
ATS AFX spindles (2.9lbs, C5/C6 sealed hub, ABS hookups, and C5/C6 brake mounts....VERY nice piece!)

Interior:
SS Dash w/ Autometers
Stock buckets covered in black leather w/ original style grain/stitching
Misc pieces wrapped in carbon fiber

Exterior:
C6 LeMans blue
SS stripes done w/ carbon fiber (lay carbon down first)
SS hood
Z06 style LSX badges

So basically just another Chevelle...

Jason

Sounds like a bad a$$ project.

I'm selling my formula to build a PT 68 Camaro.
I'm going with an LS1 with probably a Kenne Bell Supercharger

I've been doing some research, and you might want to look into a decoupled torque arm.

I'm also planning on having abs and traction control in mine.

Do you visit pro-touring.com?

The idea of a decoupled T/A looks pretty interesting...

Yeah, I'm debating between that and a truck arm suspension. I the the Torq. Arm will involve less cutting, and I'm hoping to be able to use the front spring mounts to mount the lower control arms to somehow. But without a car I can't take any measurements.

No, I can only do small stuff. I use an old kitchen oven, so if it doesn't fit in there, I can't do it.

I know there are several powdercoating companies around.

You might want to look at getting it blasted, and then maybe use POR on it....I've heard that stuff is good, and you can do it yourself.

Damn Jason, nothing like making a grand entrance (or return in this case). That things looks SWEET! Is that your motor, or just what you plan to do?

That's the plan but I may just have to 'get by' for now w/ John's forged LS6 if I can get some $ together soon.
