Default Question need some help

Ive been trying to buy a Camaro (Z or SS) for the better part of 4 months now. There have been some close encounters of the third kind, but never had keys in hand. Now im just confused and I guess exhausted, Im looking for either or, I found a Z with the 6 speed, but the color is damn near oooogly, I found a nicely priced z Auto, but its auto. Im trying to make a streetable car with a good amount of HP. Ultimate goal is Boost, when I get back from my next little business trip in July. Any help is appreciated guys, just reaching out for input. I am not looking to pay more then 16k. Let me know thanks in advance...

Where are you looking? Local car dealers? Autotrader.com? Classifieds?
How far are you willing to drive to get the right car? What color is so "ooogly" that you don't want it? Options that you want/don't want?

I just did a quick search on autotrader.com and found a dozen 97-02 V8 M6 Camaros for under 20k within driving distance of Seattle. It sounds like maybe you need to broaden your search area and try some of the other sources Rottluver said. For 17k you shouldn't have a problem, but you shouldn't expect low miles either.

If your interested in a 02 QS MTI H/C Vette (w/37k miles), PM me. It should be an 11s car, since about 11am. (Ellis just finished installing my Stage IV tranny w/ a ZO6 diff.)

It'll be 30+k tho.

How about a formula instead of a Camaro? M6 and priced right. It's also been well taken care of.

Good luck finding a Maple Red Metallic car. One of the rarer colors.

I don't know what you are looking for but in the past 3 months I have seen 4 and I have not even been really looking. I know someone who wanted a nice muscle car and so I was "kinda" on the look out. Not one was over $10k but each was in pretty good shape. All fourth gen. If you were to ACTIVELY search some of the places mentioned, I know you could find what you are looking for pretty reasonably (ie: well under 20k).

Sorry if this sounds like I am picking on you, I am not.

Are you saying you are looking for a Red Metallic car, or don't like that color?

And when you say you want a 6 sp, AND you plan to boost it, my first question is do you plan to do any racing? If the answer is yes, then you may want to reconsider an auto. Or plan on replacing several clutches & the rear end. Big tq + a 6sp =

For straight drag racing, an auto is better, more consistent, etc. For fun to drive, that is up to you. The 6 spd is harder on drivetrain parts (rear end, driveshaft, etc) when drag racing but eventually all stock parts will fail, especially if you put a turbo on the car.

Plan on upgrading just about everything to do with suspension & drivetrain if you slap a turbo on an LSx or LTx motor. I would say save the $$ and just get a plain Z28 over an extra cost SS since you plan on taking it to a new level anyway. Just my humble opinion.

Thats my plan so far, auto for turbo means constant boost after spool up, but we'll see after tommorow which one I go and buy.
