Congrats on getting an Trans Am, especially a firehawk. First things first with cars is the intake, change out that stock air intake lid for an after market. The world is your oster when it comes to mods, its just a matter of what you want out of your car, is it a daily driver, weekend toy and etc. Most important read this thread So you wanna be fast? , but dont hesitate to ask questions, knowledge is power.

IMO start with headers and an exhaust to let it breathe better. Then pick your hp goals and research from there. Theres plenty of people on this site who will help you.

I say the best first mods are a Lid and a exhaust cut-out if you are on a budget. Otherwise a stall would have been my first mod.

I second the lid/cutout suggestions. Eibach makes a good lowering spring for the money.

Congrats on the car...

For a 1" drop I would go with BMR If you want 1.5-1.75 go with DMS that is what I have.

If it's 2002 Firehawk it's already got the Blackwing lid. Damn guys. No need to buy a lid, and the SLP dd exhaust is on cars right now making 600 rwhp boosted.

The first thing to do is get a different daily driver so you don't run that car down. Then your first mod should be a supercharger. Forget bolt-ons. I built almost 500hp, but if I could do it again I'd boost it and make 530 right off the bat with a $5,000 Procharger on a stock motor.

Now I'm going to spend the money on a blower anyway in a few months.

Post up in special edition section. And call SLP with your vin# to find out what build number 'Hawk you've got. Register it on www.firehawk.org

Welcome to the club! ~Joshua

Personally, I wouldn't push many cars to over 500rwhp on stock internals, tranny, and rear.

Depends on the money you have right now, the maximum you want to spend on your car in total, and what your hp/ET/trap goals are. Once you have those out of the way you can establish a game plan. A good place to start is with all the bolt-ons (ported tb, underdrive pullies, LT headers, ORY X or H.) From there you can go H/C, n20, blower, turbo, or several combinations.

Check the sig out, hopefully some usefull links

Also IMO don't drop the car too much they really don't need it, ground clearance isn't great on them to begin with. Also dampers and anti-roll bars are more important than the springs, just adding lowering springs messes up the whole balance and setup of a car.

Thanks for the welcome guys. The car is a 2002 pewter, automatic, TA Firehawk.
I bought this car as my daily driver cuz my Mach 1 is broken down, and I sold my v6 camaro that used to be my daily driver. I don't want to add any power adders, I want it to be fast and very streetable. I want a good suspension, exhaust, and whatever good bolt-ons are out there. Don't think I want gears or a stall yet. I think what I need right now is the springs and struts cuz it sqeaks. What would you all recommend?

What struts do you have and where do you get those G2 springs? Does your car scrape over speed bumps or dips?

L.G. Motorsports. And with the exhaust under it now it scrapes less then stock. I'm running Pacesetter headers and ORY. Struts?? Do you mean Shocks?

Are the shocks in the front or the back? My mustang has struts in the front that's why I thought the TA did also... Do you have any soundclips of your car?
BTY just found out my car is #621 Do you know out of how many in 02?
