Default Anyone use VP motorsport 109 unleaded race gas?

Anyone use VP motorsport 109 octane unleaded race gas? Is this a good race gas for nitrous? I was thinking of putting this gas in my fuel cell. unfortunaty this I figure with only a 100 shot would only net me around a total of 94 octane with 91 octane on motor 109 octane spraying out of the fuel cell on nitrous. I'm thinking at the track though I would spray 150 shot so the octain would be higher since Im using more of the 109 fuel I would think.

VP RED? I have used it before, and considering the price of gas here, it is almost the same price as 94 octane.

The unleaded 109 should be be fine up to 150hp if you are running it in a seperate fuel cell. Also, you math is not correct on calculating the octane level of the two fuels combined. To find the total octane you would have to calculate what percentage of the total amount of fuel entering the engine is 91 and what percentage is 109. Then calculate the differences in the octanes for those percentages. Kind of confusing.

Anyway, you can rest assured that the unleaded 109 is more than enough for the 150hp that you are wanting to spray considering that it is acceptable to spray that much with 93 octane premium pump gas.

I just bought 15 gallons of this for my stand alone fuel system. I hit it for a few seconds the other day (250 shot) 93 oct in the main tank 11.5 afr on my wideband. The logs look great. last year i was running 100 in both tanks. I hope to be able to run 93 in the main and this in the fuel cell this year. I paid 136$ delivered to my local shop for the 15 gallon drum

I'm way far from being a math wiz but the way I calculated the final octane was since I didn’t know the ratio of nitrous fuel to NA fuel is that I divided my approximate added nitrous HP level (100HP shot) by my approximate NA HP level of not more than 550 FWHP for a ratio of 100/550= .182 multiplied by the difference in octane of the two fuel's of 109-91=18 x .182 + 91=94.276 for the final octane. That's of course if HP and fuel are proportionally liner. I do understand that there are maybe hundreds of variables; I just wanted to get a close approximation. If anyone has a better way of calculating (with out being too complicated)the final octane please let me know.

I got ya', no biggie. I think the biggest unknown variable is the proportion of nitrous fuel to NA fuel once it's in the cylinders. Anyway, thanks for reminding me how much I hate match,
