Anyone know how to calculate the final octane when using a stand alone?
Like the title say's. This is a copy of a post I made earlier so I thought it would be a good question to ask:
I'm way far from being a math wiz but the way I calculated the final octane was since I didn’t know the ratio of nitrous fuel to NA fuel is that I divided my approximate added nitrous HP level (100HP shot) by my approximate NA HP level of not more than 550 FWHP for a ratio of 100/550= .182 multiplied by the difference in octane of the two fuel's of 109-91=18 x .182 + 91=94.276 for the final octane. That's of course if HP and fuel are proportionally liner. I do understand that there are maybe hundreds of variables; I just wanted to get a close approximation. If anyone has a better way of calculating (with out being too complicated) the final octane, please let me know.

I use total hp(550+100=650).
109 octane used is 100/650=.15385
91 octane used is 550/650=.84615
109 x .15385= 16.769
91 x .84615= 76.999
Formulated = 93.768 octane

The problem with those figures is, at least in my case. I run high 12 low 13 a/f on motor. I use the same fuel map on N20, My a/f on the juice is 11.5 so there is a greater amount of stand alone fuel used per horsepower gained do to the fact that im lowering the a/f about 12% Those numbers you posted do get you in the ball park and any error is on the side of safety. Just something else to think about.
I run about 500 on motor and a 250 shot. 93 oct in main vp109 in standalone. That should give me an oct in the 98 to 99 oct area. theres no sense in running decimels in these calcs as there is alot of variables and speculation involved. want to raise oct even more? run a lean fuel map when using nitrous and a larger fuel jet and or a higher fuel pressure in the direct port.
