Default Got my MegaSquirt ..Now a Few Questions.

So I just ordered my MegaSquirt MS1 FMU yesterday, along with the engine harness and tuning cable.

I have a few questions. Does anyone else have this setup and running succesfully on their LT, and if so did you keep the Opti or did you go for a drilled intake with a distributer? I seem to get varying answers as to if the Opti pickup will trigger the ecm.

I went with the MS1 since it has more features at the moment with the MSNS-E firmware than the MS2V 3.0 has. (though that will change soon I suspect). I plan on using it for spark and fuel control for now.

I am curious, how hard was it to get it initially up and running? I'm fairly knowledgable in electronics and such so that side of it doesn't phase me. I am just curious if anyone has a base map file they could send me as a starting point. Thanks!

Why couldn't you use the Crank sensor, most of the other guys are doing this...it would be basically the same as EDIS

Because I am running a 94' LT that doesn't have a crank sensor. Sure I could swap crank triggers and front covers but it's no harder than using a drilled intake and ditching the opticrap.
