I've listened to it like a millions times and I think theres not that much. The microphone picked up every little sound, while muffling some the high-end noise. However, it's still very true to it's original sound.

supposedly a MadZ28 tune will tone down the poping. Give it a try.

Really? I've never heard that. Do you think it's worth a tune for the modifications I have so far?

yup unless your doing a cam swap or gears soon. The MadZ28 tune just gave my car more power through all the gears (A4) and it shifts super fast and hard. I would def get the tune.

I don't see how tuning could change the exhaust tone.

I believe that in the tuning the fuel/air ratios are adjusted therefore making it more leaned out which can take out some of the popping. Not 100% sure tho because my car pops the same it did before I had it tuned but my exhaust was never that poppy.

Well of course you got more power through all the gears. You have an automatic with your shift points changed! Theres little to tune with my M6 and my car's air/fuel ratio is right on the money as it is.
