Default Superchargers and Headers...

I am running 1 3/4" LTs right now, but I am wondering if they are going to be a major choke point in my new setup?

Procharger F1C, 408, ET240s

Should I sell the 1 3/4" LTs and pick up some 1 7/8" LTs? Or will I be ok with these? I was planning on getting cutouts if I keep the 1 3/4" LTs I have now, but if I go to 1 7/8" I won't be able to and I will have to run through my single 3.5" Corsa Exh system?

Thoughts suggestions?

I think you will be ok 1 3/4 they are a good size header, and with the cutouts in you should have no problems!

T-day, I would consider some larger headers, given the flow you're going to see. For my 408W w/ D2 blower, my engine builder is recommending some custom built 2" pipes [gulp!]...I may try some inexpensive 1 3/4"...and I know you already have ONE set of headers. Not sure what sort of adapters would be needed for 2" headers, though. I don't know if 1 7/8" is enough of an improvement to be worth the cost. Also, a single 3.5" exhaust isn't enough flow for >400 cu in + boost.

i agree with above. 1 7/8" header is the way to go if you have teh budget. 1 3/4 wont HURT too much but wont help. i bet a 20 rwhp loss.

This may be something I have to sacrifice for now... Or I could just sell my current LTs and Corsa Exhaust and buy new headers and do dumps... hmmm

I use 1 7/8 with a 3" collector on a 346 but its probably overkill, I got a fair deal used otherwise I would have put 1 3/4 on it. Try what you have first, not like its hard to change headers or hard to sell used ones and its especially not hard to buy new ones

I run through a 3" Ypipe (crappy Kooks at that) and a 3" intermediate pipe and take the muffler off the rear at the track. I have ran it with the muffler and it doesnt make a huge ET/mph difference, just keeps bending the brackets on 1.35x 60 foots

My vote is for the 1 7/8 qtp HVMC headers with 3 inch duals through dynomax bullets dumped at the rear. Figure you can get back about $500 for the corsa, then $500 for your headers (depending on condition), so thats about $1000 back. Then the QTP 1 7/8 will be around $800 (not sure since they arent priced yet), then about 400 or so for duals, so about $1200 bucks total.
