Default G5X3 and boost, Answers within....

I finally finished my build up and got my car down to Nick at Newtech performance in Hayward. He tuned it and did an AWESOME tune! He did a speed density tune for me. On 7lbs of boost and the mods in the sig we made 644rwhp and 529ft-lbs. This is on a very safe tune at that. The car drives great and sounds mean! For all of those that said this cam was not the way to go I would not change a thing. The g5x3 on the 114 did exactly what I wanted it to do. I could have gone with a smaller cam and more boost and made the same power. This way was safer on the stock bottom end and got the results that I wanted. I wanted to thank Nick again for the great tune!

Congrats on your results!!! I'm currently in the market for a blower cam on my ProCharger C6, do you have the specs on the G5x3 cam?? Do you recall approx. how much rear wheel gains you got on the cam & tune or any before & after dyno graph? Do you have the contact info for Newtech Performance?

Thanks, any info is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Richard

You would if you realized how much power you were leaving on the table. Even a smaller cam meant for boost would make more power than your G5X3

Really? And more power under the curve too?

BTW, congrats on the #'s! 7psi and making that power is sick! This is with meth right?

If your happy thats what matters, but the cam doesn't make things "safer"

I love you guys that think a lower number on the boost guage means their engine has a better chance of surviving.

I would do a little more research into forced induction if you believe that.

In any case looks like your making more than enough power to have alot of fun.

Stay safe and enjoy!

It is a supercharger. It made 462 before the blower. This is with meth. I picked up about 20rwhp on the meth. The cam is larger than suggested as was reminded with some of the replies, but that doesn't matter. I may be able to make similar power with a smaller cam, but it wouldn't be a huge difference. I understand that the fact that i am seeing 7lbs doesn't make it any easier on the motor. With the cam and bleading some boost off does help prolong the upcoming demise of the motor. That was the only point that I was trying to make.

Thanks for the positive feedback! Hey pro stock John is the ys trim physically larger than the t-trim? When this motor goes I may upgrade and was wondering if it would work with my bracket. Do you run an 8-rib with your setup?

What's the best guess on the G5X3 cam specs, other than 114lsa?

I'm thinking around 234/240 @ .050", or maybe 238/244.

Can you show me one person making better power than this guy on 7 lbs of boost? There are a lot of people with "secret turbo or blower cams that aren't making this kind of power on 9 lbs of boost.

It is bigger, and has a bigger outlet, 4.0 vs the 3.5 on your T-Trim (I think). I have been running 8 rib.

What kind of compression are you running with the heads? I am going to put a ATI Procharger on mine that's why I am asking. Also good job and good numbers bro.
