Default Clunk going into 1st

If I am at a light in N, and the stereo's off, which isn't often, I can notice a slight clunk when I put the car in first, before I let off the clutch that is. So its like Im sitting there with it in N, cluch in all the way, put it in first * clunk *let clutch out, smooth.

Cool story Hansel.

You didn't actually ask a question, but it sounds like your clutch isn't disengaging all the way.

Off base dig grettle. I saw a question in that.
A noise of the synchros engaging the gear is normal. If you were in neutral , clutch depressed/ dis-engaged , and shifted the trans, you would hear the trans engaging any/ all of the gears. Since 1st and reverse are the deepest ratios, their noise may be easier to detect. I do not believe you have a problem.

my first gear does the same exact thing. I dont think its a problem though. Im getting a new clutch soon, so if it IS the clutch not disengaging, im gettin it replaced anyway, but im sure its not, sometimes it doesnt clunk. Im sure its just all the gears and synchros moving around for first gear.

i think its the slave. my car was doing it. i replaced the master w/ no change, did the slave and it went away. I also replaced the clutch, but it happened with my spec and ram so it was something that was common to the two....the slave.
